Right Attitude in Prayer

And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me (John 5:5-7).

Your attitude in prayer determines whether or not you’ll receive what you desire. Some people don’t know the difference between complaining to the Lord and making a request of Him. When Jesus met the sick man at the pool of Bethesda, He asked him, “Do you want to be made whole?” Instead of the man to request His help, he started complaining that any time the pool was stirred and he tried to step in, someone else got there ahead of him. He could have missed his miracle, but thank God for the compassion of Jesus; He mercifully healed him.

When the wine finished midway into the wedding ceremony in Cana of Galilee, some of the servers might have complained and said, “See, there are too many guests! Why did they invite two hundred people instead of one hundred? Now the wine is finished. Where do they expect us to get wine from?” But Mary, Jesus’ mother, had a different attitude. When she heard the wine had finished, she told Jesus about it and said to the servers, “Whatever He asks you to do, do it” (John 2:5).

There were six water vessels there that were used for Jewish purification rituals, and Jesus instructed them to fill each one with water. They went and did as they were told, wondering what exactly Jesus was up to. Then He asked them to pour from one of the vessels and take to the chairman of the occasion to drink. Thank God they obeyed, and there was a miracle. The water was turned into the best wine he’d tasted that day! If the servers had complained and refused to obey Jesus, thinking His instruction was going to get them into trouble, they would have missed that miracle!

Don’t have a complaining attitude. Complaints don’t work with God. He has shown us what works in His Word; it says, “Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God” (Philippians 4:6 CEV).

So much has happened in this month of Prayer; we have not only prayed as the Lord instructed, we have also received the benefits of praying as He planned for us. Glory to God! So many have received uncommon answers already, others have wrought the miraculous through their faith in God. The list goes on! I am excited just thinking about what your personal testimony and experience about prayer is this month. Share with us the prophecies and answers you received, the changes you effected by praying and more!  Let’s fill the internet with our own spirit-filled content. Hallelujah

Pray with Confidence - June 18

Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full (John 16:24).
God’s desire is for you to have your requests granted, so your joy may be full. He’s your loving heavenly Father, and you can be confident to table your requests before Him. In Matthew 7:11, Jesus said to the Pharisees, “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”

The reason some Christians pray but never receive anything from the Lord is that they don’t ask in confidence. This is perhaps because they’re ignorant of His will. God’s will is not to withhold good things from you, so be confident to ask Him for the best things of life. If you’re not confident before God, you can’t be effective in your walk of faith.

This is where righteousness-consciousness comes in. Righteousness is the nature of God imparted to your spirit at the new birth, which gives you right-standing with God. It gives you the ability to stand confidently before God without guilt or inferiority. Note that the righteousness you have is God’s righteousness; He gave it to you as a gift (Romans 5:17). So you can boldly and confidently approach His throne of grace today. You can pray in faith and expect answers, for the righteousness of Christ in you has qualified you to receive from Him.

Always remember that God is more desirous that you live the good life than you could ever be. So be confident to present your request before Him in prayer this month and receive your answer, that your joy may be full. Hallelujah!

Repel The Enemy By Praying in Tongues

So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19).

Every child of God has a spiritual `force-field’ around him, which repels the enemy! Did you ever read about Job in the Bible? Satan had tried unsuccessfully to attack the man, and that’s why he asked God, “Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?…” (Job 1:10). That `force-field’ repelled the attacks of the devil, until Job unfortunately breached it through his wrong confessions. So, there is a `force-field’ around you and you can increase its perimeter through praying in tongues!

Isaiah 59:19 in the Amplified version goes thus: “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him {and} put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]” Glory to God! No matter how the enemy tries to come at you this month, the Spirit of God will erect that repellent barrier against him! But guess what? He doesn’t do it all by Himself; He does it through you, for He functions and carries out His ministry in the earth through His kids.

To repel means to force back or drive away someone. Thus as you pray in tongues this month, the force-field of the Spirit that repels the enemy is built around you. That force field keeps him from touching anything and anyone that is connected to you. It’ll keep him from touching your business, your job, your family and anything that concerns you. This month, as you pray in tongue that spiritual force-field is raised and expanded, and shields you completely.

When you feel the pressure coming at you on your job, business, academics or in any area of your life, that’s not the time to cry or cower; that’s the time to pray in other tongues fervently! At such moments, don’t just speak in tongues for five minutes and quit; increase your `fire power!’ Talk in tongues hard, fast and loud enough until the power of God inundates your whole being and saturates the entire environment.

You might start slowly, but as you continue, the spiritual `force-field’ around you gets wider and wider, driving the enemy further away. Stir up fire in the realm of the spirit today by praying in other tongues; no demon hatched out of hell can stand that. Glory to God!

What a glorious month! So many are already having great experiences praying in tongues this month. I just wonder what your experience is like. Share with us today. God bless you!

What Happens when You Speak in Other Tongues?

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (1 Corinthians 14:2).

It’s been over 48 hours since the Holy Ghost launched us into this glorious month of Prayer. The excitement is building around the world as believers pray together twice a day for fifteen-life changing minutes each; speaking mostly in other tongues. Thank you for heeding the counsel of the Spirit to pray.

In this month of Prayer, ensure that you participate fully in those special prayer times and speaking in other tongues is one spiritual activity you must take seriously! If you’ve not been praying this way, you’re missing too much! Paul said, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all” (1 Corinthians 14:18). He could brag about it because he understood the importance of this spiritual activity. No wonder his results were incontrovertible.

Speaking in other tongues is an important way to accomplish a God-given purpose. It’s a way to “quick charge” your spirit and cause you to respond very quickly to spiritual things. As you pray in tongues, the anointing is stirred within you and, suddenly, you’re turned into another man. Glory!

When you’re born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, the power of God comes to reside in you. This power is triggered off or set in motion when you speak in other tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself….” The Greek word translated as “edifieth” means “to construct or to build up, to embolden or charge up like a battery.” The scripture is therefore telling us that the one who speaks in other tongues builds himself up like an edifice; he emboldens himself and charges himself like a battery.

Speaking in tongues is the solution to fear and timidity. If you ever become timid about anything this month, activate the power within you by speaking in other tongues; it works! (2 Timothy 1:7). Also, if you want to operate in the highest level of faith, which you’ve attained, then you must practise speaking in other tongues often this month. In Jude 1:20, the Bible says when you speak in other tongues you’re building yourself on your most holy faith. That means the Spirit of God is able to take God’s Word right into your spirit where it produces God’s kind of faith.

Brothers and sisters, this month is a month like never before because you’re in for a glorious experience.  In this month, you’ll see the manifestation of the supernatural in your life like never before and others will see it too. So, don’t just participate; let’s get everyone speaking in other tongues. Glory to God!

Remember to post your comments and share your experiences in this month of Prayer.
