Hitherto
have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may
be full (John 16:24).
God’s desire is for
you to have your requests granted, so your joy may be full. He’s your loving
heavenly Father, and you can be confident to table your requests before Him. In
Matthew 7:11, Jesus said to the Pharisees, “If ye then, being evil, know how to
give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in
heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
The reason some Christians
pray but never receive anything from the Lord is that they don’t ask in
confidence. This is perhaps because they’re ignorant of His will. God’s will is
not to withhold good things from you, so be confident to ask Him for the best
things of life. If you’re not confident before God, you can’t be effective in
your walk of faith.
This is where righteousness-consciousness
comes in. Righteousness is the nature of God imparted to your spirit at the new
birth, which gives you right-standing with God. It gives you the ability to
stand confidently before God without guilt or inferiority. Note that the
righteousness you have is God’s righteousness; He gave it to you as a gift
(Romans 5:17). So you can boldly and confidently approach His throne of grace
today. You can pray in faith and expect answers, for the righteousness of
Christ in you has qualified you to receive from Him.
Always remember that God
is more desirous that you live the good life than you could ever be. So be
confident to present your request before Him in prayer this month and receive
your answer, that your joy may be full. Hallelujah!
