Whoever
wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever desires to be
first among you must be your slave—just as the Son of Man came not to be waited
on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to
set them free].

God desires to restore us to our rightful position
of authority in Christ. But first, we must learn to respect authority before we
are fit to be in authority.
We all have authorities to whom God expects us to
submit. Our government, our law officers, and even our merchants have the right
to set rules for us to follow. If we are not submitting to God’s appointed
authority, it will soon be revealed.
Keep a submissive attitude in your heart, and enjoy
the authority you have been given to spend time in God’s presence today.
