Thou
shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set
time, is come. … When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his
glory…. This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which
shall be created shall praise the Lord (Psalm 102:13-18).
During the December 31st New Year’s
Eve Service, the Spirit of God declared concerning us that 2013 is our year of
Favour! This year, we have been specially lavished with abundance of
favour. 2013 is the set time for God to favour you. Hallelujah! And in the following weeks, we
would be dealing with the many-sided wisdom of God concerning favour.
Favour means “friendly regard” shown toward another especially by
a superior; it means gracious
kindness; a special
privilege or right
granted you—especially that which you didn’t
deserve. It also means an advantage bestowed
on you to your benefit. It’s akin to the word “mercy” as used in the
beginning part of the opening scripture, which in the original Hebrew text
refers to “a deep expression of love.” Therefore, bearing
in mind the contextual Hebrew connotation, the beginning part of our opening
scripture should read, “Thou shall arise and have deep love for
Zion; for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”
This
year 2013 is your set time to experience unprecedented favour and God’s
manifold blessings in every area of your life. Doors and opportunities that can’t be
humanly explained have been opened to you by the Spirit of God; you’ll continually be regarded, celebrated and marvellously helped
because you’ve found favour with God, and in the sight of
men. The favour of God upon your life has qualified you to experience
the great and glorious benefits of the Kingdom. No wonder the Apostle Paul
delightfully exclaimed in Colossians 1:12, “Giving thanks unto the
Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the
saints in light..!”
You’re
the favoured child of a loving God; therefore you cannot be disadvantaged. The
Bible says, “For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt
thou compass him as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12). That means you’re
dressed with God’s favour everywhere you go this year. Your responsibility throughout
this year is to be conscious of this reality and the favour of God will
continually be manifested in your daily experiences. Hallelujah!
